When I first moved to Toronto last April, I got to see the subway for the first time. I’ll admit, I didn’t know what to make of it, or what to expect. To be honest I was a bit afraid it was an evil lair of thieves and muggers, I thought I could easily loose my wallet on the subway. After hearing stories about New York’s subway, like the roving gangs of Mexican organ traders, you could understand my apprehension.

Rules
In brief: One guy named Mr. X runs around Toronto’s transit system in a bright yellow shirt, while three or more guys in red shirts try to find him using the clues he gives at every third stop he makes. The three detectives are coordinated by dispatchers who tell the detectives where they think Mr. X might be and how best to block him off. Mr. X’s dispatcher is relaying information about the detectives whereabouts and tries to keep him away from them. The game ends when a turn limit has been reached or X is caught. (more…)
The other day I thought it would be funny to dress up in an old USSR football jersey, go to Chinatown, wear a fake mustache and sunglasses, and pretend to be a confused Russian trapped in time and have to eat the strangest Chinese candy I could find. (more…)
